BEFORE/AFTER - SIZA/MALAGAMBA

After a very long gestation process, we are finally able to present: BeforeAfter. The book is - from the initial idea to the graphic concept - a four-handed collaboration with Álvaro Siza and it takes a look at his career through twenty selected projects.
The subtle dialogue between Siza's delicate sketches and Duccio's photographs, the 'before' and the 'after', aims to emphasise the incredible evocative capacity of the strokes that spring, with astonishing freshness, from the hand of the Portuguese master. An extensive conversation between the two authors, concludes this shared journey of more than thirty years.
The prestigious English publisher Phaidon Press has made it possible. Here, the inspired drawings and carefully studied photographs are presented as pieces of art in their own right and not as mere illustrations, contrary to what is often the case. A deluxe edition just one click away.
